“Partnering with Parents to Build a Better Education for Young Children.”

Ensuring Quality

Kindergate Child Care works closely with 4C of Southern Indiana, Inc., the area’s child care resource and referral agency.  We participate in Paths To Quality, a voluntary rating system for child care providers who go beyond minimum state requirements and Mentors as Partners, a program that involves monthly consultation between qualified mentors and staff of licensed child care centers.  Both programs help centers raise the quality of early childhood programs with a hands on approach.

Kindergate accepts all children ages 6 weeks to 6 years regardless of race, color, sex, creed, religion, national or ethnic origin, handicap or medical condition, provided our establishment meets the needs of the individual child with reasonable accommodations.

Our Values

Our primary goal is to provide warm and loving care while simultaneously offering a stimulating and educational curriculum.  We are proud to employ staff who are committed to quality early childhood education.  Our teachers are facilitators, observers, researchers and motivators who, with the children, delight in learning.

Kindergate is licensed by the Bureau of Child Development.  We participate in frequent unannounced inspections from the Indiana State Department of Health, Fire Marshall and Division of Family and Children.

Our Programs

Infants:  (Staff child ratio is 1:4 with a group size of 8.)

Each baby has a primary caregiver who attends to the child’s individual needs according to his/her schedule.  Teachers have direct contact with babies during feeding, diapering and sensory activities.

Toddlers:  (Staff child ratio is 1:5 with a group size of 10.)

Toddlerhood is characterized by curiosity and unbounded energy.  Teachers provide individual attention and help toddlers channel capabilities to accept limits and frustrations in positive ways.

Preschool:  (Staff child ratios:  threes- 10:1, fours- 12:1, fives- 15:1, Max group size determined by youngest child)

Play is what children do best and enjoy most.  Play is their work.  Play fosters total development and should be integrated into everything children do.  Our daily schedule provides activities that include opportunities for children to use critical thinking and problem solving skills while reflecting their interests to foster positive self image, independence and interdependence.

Full Day Kindergarten

Kindergate is proud to offer full day Kindergarten.  With a maximum of 15 students, children receive more individual attention in helping them acquire basic skills.  Having a full day gives our licensed teacher (with kindergarten endorsement) time to provide a variety of activities to reach their full potential.
